Please visit the website to stay up-to-date on news and resources as well as the ProLiteracy blog. In the coming months, the tutor training resources and the tutor handbook will also be accessible online via the website. A big THANK YOU to Jamie Cyphers for her amazing work in redesigning the website. Oh, and did I mention that it is mobile-friendly! Don't forget that you can follow the latest happenings at the Literacy Council on Facebook and Twitter -- like our TRIVIA NIGHT fundraiser on Thursday, June 23 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. To provide tutoring for adults and qualified children to improve their reading and writing skills and to be an advocate for literacy within the Greater Kingsport community. I have attached a great resource for you to review on the General Characteristics of Effective Readers. The goal of reading is comprehension. We want all of our students to be able to read to learn and understand. While not all students have the same goals, all of our students strive to become better, more effective readers. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at [email protected] or by calling the office at (423) 392-4643. Thank you for your continued support of the Literacy Council of Kingsport. Together, we can build a stronger community through the power of literacy!
