
Dawn Blake is a graduate of Virginia Tech - Go Hokies! She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Human Development, which is a multidisciplinary field that applies psychology, sociology, and human health principles for the enrichment of individuals, families and communities. Dawn volunteered with the Virginia Tech Literacy Corps where she served as an English and math tutor for local elementary school children. She has always had a passion for literacy. Dawn believes in providing educational programs that emphasize and utilize strengths for individual motivation, achievement and success. Dawn enjoys cooking, a good book, and a very strong cup of coffee.
Emily Griffey, Program & Office Coordinator

Emily Griffey is a graduate of Virginia Intermont College and the University of Tennessee’s School of Information Science. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Art, with a concentration in Graphic Design, and a master’s degree in Information Science. Emily has nine years of experience working as an Adult Services Librarian where: she assisted library customers with a variety of information needs; provided print and social media marketing; developed the adult fiction, non-fiction, graphic novel, and Spanish collections; and planned and implemented events and programming for all ages. Emily believes in meeting students where they are and helping them to achieve individual goals. Emily enjoys reading, video games, yoga, and spending time with her two senior dogs.
